About Us
Established in 1976, APSN is a social service agency that provides special education, vocational training and employment support services for individuals with mild intellectual disability (IQ 50-70).
We currently operate four Special Education (SPED) Schools (APSN Chaoyang School, APSN Katong School, APSN Tanglin School and APSN Delta Senior School) for students between the ages of 7 and 21, APSN Student Care Centre for children from 7 to 18 years old, APSN Centre for Adults for persons from 18 years and older, and APSN Learning Hub for working professionals and other stakeholders.
We adopt a holistic approach in our curriculum, comprising academic, vocational and social skills, which are important for open employment and lifelong learning. APSN seeks to enable persons with special needs to be active contributors to the society, and is committed to inspire and develop the capabilities of our partners and community to build an inclusive society.
Currently, APSN cares for more than 6,000 beneficiaries, students, trainees and alumni. We are constantly expanding our network to reach out to more beneficiaries and to understand their needs so that we are better able to support them.
Since 1 April 2021, we have undergone restructuring such that the society’s activities would be carried out by two incorporated companies limited by guarantee – APSN Education Services Ltd. and APSN Ltd.
APSN Education Services Ltd. oversees the operations of four APSN Schools while APSN Ltd. manages the APSN Centre for Adults, APSN Student Care Centre and APSN Learning Hub. Both entities work seamlessly together as one APSN to provide holistic education, training, employment assistance, as well as continuing support to all APSN beneficiaries through the different stages of their life journey; so that they can become active contributors to the society and lead independent and fulfilling lives.
We have also attained the Enabling Mark (Gold), a national-level accreditation framework by SG Enable that benchmarks and recognises organisations for their best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive employment.
