1976

The seeds of APSN were first sowed in 1970 when several parents realised that their children with an IQ range of 50 to 70 needed a curriculum that was better suited to children with mild intellectual disabilities. The Association for Educationally Subnormal Children (AESN) was first started in 1976, with the late Dr Dixie Tan as its first President .
